Preparing to Pour UVPoxy

How do you prepare a surface for a UVPoxy coating?

Watch the full tutorial here!

1. Prepare Project Surface

Look at the surface to determine if any issues or details need attention before starting the coating process.

For example, any hard corners you'd want to round off. Knots in the wood may need to be filled, andwood pieces may need to be sealed coated to prevent air bubbles forming in your coating.

If you do apply a seal coat, be sure to sand the surface with 220 grit sandpaper.

Then use denatured alcohol to wipe off the surface.Ensure that you don't have any dust remaining on the surface that might contaminate the coating.

2. Elevate & Level Project

Elevate your project off of the surface of the table.

You can use small plastic cups. The last step is to make sure that your surface is level, in both directions.

3. Result

Your surface should now be ready for a successful UVPoxy pour.
